Prix Camille Blaisot (Group II), mounted - Tango Quick plays with Trotting Race

Paris-Vincennes (France)

In the Prix Camille Blaisot, two of the field in the Group 1 Prix de Cornulier were up against each other once again in this race : Tango Quick, who made an extraordinary comeback in that event, and Trotting Race, who finished an honorable sixth. Important issues were at stake : first of all, they both had to prove their capacity to recover after a top level race, face great competitors and start with a 25 metre handicap against horses such as the very progressive Troika du Corta and Texas Charm, winner of the 2010 Prix de Vincennes (Group 1).
The race was led by Troika du Corta and Tina du Rib, both closely followed by the 2011 Prix du Président de la République winner, Tango Quick. With a good pace in the race, Trotting Race challenge was even more impressive. Launched at full speed in the final bend by Nathalie Henry, the filly bred by Jean-Pierre Dubois took advantage of the Quick Star Stables owned representative. However, the tenacious, untiring, Tango Quick reaccelerated once again. The fight was epic, and turned in the favour of Tango Quick and Franck Nivard, winners by a small margin. Author of a kilometric rate of 1"13"8, they registered a new race record.
